Transportation Law

Since 1938, Yules & Yules has represented the motor carrier industry in liability, regulatory, and transactional matters in Connecticut and New York, particularly in the New York City metro area and Long Island. We have represented over a hundred motor carriers in over 500 transportation cases. Our firm has had experience in almost all aspects of transportation law, including liability defense; cargo losses; representation before the DOT and DMV; employment issues affecting motor carriers; commercial vehicle insurance; mergers and acquisitions; and equipment leasing. We are also knowledgeable about the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations of the U.S. Department of Transportation; business torts; products liability; wrongful death claims; and workers’ compensation matters.

As most transportation matters involve going to court, you can rest assured that your company’s interests will be well represented by Yules & Yules. Attorney Robert B. Yules is the author of the treatise Connecticut Trial Practice, Second Edition, published by West Group. This book, written for the bench and bar, describes the court rules and procedures of a trial from jury selection to post verdict motions.

Yules & Yules publishes quarterly the Motor Carrier Liability Report, which tracks verdicts and settlements in truck, bus, and rail accident cases nationwide. The Report is a response to our clients’ request for data by which to determine the value of their pending cases. It is also our firm’s way of demonstrating our commitment to the trucking industry. To receive a copy of the latest Report and to be added to the distribution list, e-mail us. Firm members participate in numerous professional associations involved in the transportation industry, including the American Trucking Association (ATA); the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA); the Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA); the American Bar Association (ABA); and the Defense Research Institute (DRI). Attorney Robert B. Yules has recently participated as a faculty member in seminars sponsored by TIDA in Las Vegas and the ABA / TLA in Denver, and the ATA in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
